Aubrey always looks so tired nowadays. I hope we achieve indefinite life extension soon, so he can finally relax!

We won’t achieve it anytime this century, as biotech within the next 50-75 years will still be too crude and unsophisticated. Cryonics is the only chance we all have.

Even more interesting than the above picture would be (hint!) an account of what Michael and Mr. de Grey were talking about.

Now I am going to read these two interview transcripts: The Effort to Postpone Frailty Indefinitely and The Task of Arguing for Extended Life. The latter begins not quite accidentally with Aubrey saying “Yeah, I was getting tired”.

Plus: Do u think it’ll take the rest of the century to achieve “full-blown” (or “Drexlerian”) nanotech (which implies ongoing cell-repair…)?!

Aubrey de Grey is taking the wrong approach on solutions to so-called “overpopulation problem”. Stop telling people they must choose between life extension and reproduction. He says human aging is an engineering problem, why not overpopulation as well?
