I've recently started reading a book series call Culture novels by Iain M. Banks. The blog explores some of his ideas at greater length. Personally, I believe humanity is soon to go through a "thranshuman" revolution. That is, quite soon, your typical human will be of the more advanced variety and who we are today will be considered more "human-basic."
