Jurvetson with Biden
Here's a nice picture of Joe Biden with Steve Jurvetson, two people I think are pretty cool. Steve, whom some of you already know, is a futurist/transhumanist who cares a lot about the same issues I do, like extinction risk and artificial general intelligence. You can read about some of his thinking at his blog, the J Curve.
Now Biden is just smart and funny. He came up with one of the most-quoted zingers of the election season -- "Rudy Giuliani. There's only three things he mentions in a sentence -- a noun, a verb, and 9/11. There's nothing else!" The guy is full of hilarious quips, but when it comes to politics, he's no-nonsense. Unlike most politicians, he is often willing to go off-script and be himself. What a deserving VP.
I notice they both have perfect teeth. How famous do you have to be, I wonder, before getting perfect teeth becomes mandatory?

Biden seems like he means well but thinking FDR was president in 1929 and he should have got on TV that year make me wonder if he has a liquid diet.
