Looking at my Google Alert emails for the search term “artificial intelligence”, the majority of stories have to do with the Singularity, intelligence explosion, transhumanism, or advanced AI in general. This is pretty surprising. Here is a selection of the latest alert:

Yah well, as is wellknown by the critics of this whole transhumanist and singularitarian business (robot cult is the term I believe) all this will never catch on, is a very small fringe affair and won’t even happen, since its some kind of freudian projection.
