Here’s Gladwell’s latest response to Pinker’s critique.

Unsurprisingly, his arguments are based on guilt by association rather than presenting evidence in favor of his view.

It is interesting, all of my psychology textbooks give long descriptions IQ, Gardner’s multiple intelligences, nurture theories, etc., treating them as though they were equally valid theories.

They usually then have a brief paragraph where they admit that IQ has robust evidence and the other theories don’t. It’s very frustrating, to someone who wants to approach psychology as a science.
