Senior Scientist, 21st Century Medicine

Brian Wowk is a Senior Scientist at 21st Century Medicine, Inc. where he studies the low temperature preservation of tissues and organs for medical use. He was a co-founder with Dr. Gregory Fahy of technology permitting successful cryonic temperature preservation and transplantation of mammalian organs. His research for 21st Century Medicine is considered among the most significant evidence in favor of cryonics currently available.

Dr. Wowk has given numerous talks on the viability of cryonics. An advisor to the Immortality Institute, he gave a presentation at their 2006 conference entitled "Suspended Animation by Vitrification," viewable below. Later that year, he presented at the 6th Alcor Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, refuting various myths about the science of cryobology.

Recently, he presented at the 7th Alcor Conference, addressing a number of common questions about cryonics and cryobiology, and was featured in a 2008 documentary on radical life extension called "The Longevity Revolution." The film was produced and aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
