Ramez Naam

Author, More Than Human

Ramez Naam helped develop two of the most widely used pieces of software in the world: Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook. Since 2002 he has served as a member of the advisory board of the Nano Business Alliance, and is a member of the World Future Society, The Extropy Institute, and the World Transhumanist Association. Over the last eight years, he has spoken at dozens of conferences on biotechnology. He holds a degree in computer science from the University of Illinois. A resident of Seattle, he currently works on Internet search technology at Microsoft. His book, More Than Human attempts to give an illustration of how emerging technologies will affect society, the economy, politics, and human identity and asks what social policies should be enacted to regulate, restrict, or encourage the use of these technologies.
