Robert Ettinger
Author, The Prospect of Immortality
Robert Ettinger has worked as a teacher in physics and math at Wayne State University and Highland Park Community College in Michigan. He is considered to be the principal founder of the cryonics movement. His first book, The Prospect of Immortality, was privately published in 1962 and its first commercial edition was printed by Doubleday in 1964, followed by several other editions including several foreign languages. His second book followed in 1972 on St. Martin's Press and has become an influential work in the transhumanism movement, titled Man into Superman. He founded the Cryonics Institute and the Immortalist Society.
