Plug us into your networks. Causes succeed or fail based on the connections available to the people advocating them. In order to help the Singularity movement successfully achieve our goal, please direct receptive contacts to our work. Help build credibility for the movement. The Singularity is a very radical idea, one that few have heard of and even fewer understand. By informing friends and contacts about your Singularity-related ideas, you're showing them that there's another person who takes the Singularity seriously. And the Singularity needs all the seriousness it can get.

Volunteer financially. Consider donating to the Singularity Institute. The Institute has a history of high productivity dating back to 2000, high professional standards, and a genuine commitment to making the Singularity happen as soon as possible. There may be no other organization that offers a higher return on investment. Don't forget that small donations matter - each donation shows us that another unique thinker cares about the Singularity.

Write articles explaining the importance of the Singularity. It would be nice if word-of-mouth were sufficient to build a critical mass for the Singularity movement, but it isn't. Articles, submitted to specific websites or posted on your own website, can potentially yield thousands of unique views per month - far more people than you would inform otherwise. Writing articles is an action with very high value, and it doesn't take too long to write a short one.

Consider training to be a seed AI programmer. We want to build a real AI that can recursively improve upon its own source code, acquire effective means to influence the real world, and improve that influence. Seed AI programmers must be brilliant and meet a variety of tough standards. But we need them more than anything else.
